Lectures and Demonstrations
Lectures

Cathy’s forte is not only working with horses but conveying her ideas to other horse lovers and to this end there is nothing that Cathy likes more than demonstrating and lecturing to all types of groups.

If you already have a course running in equine studies you will find that a lecture from Cathy Tindall will greatly enhance its contents as well as provide some new thought provoking information.

Some groups where Cathy has lectured or demonstrated:

  • Equine Physiotherapy group in the Netherlands
  • Equine Shiatsu group in Belgium
  • Burleghy horse trials
  • Hickstead show jumping
  • Pony club camps
  • Riding school meetings
  • After dinner speeches
  • To degree students at agricultural colleges
  • WI meetings

The list could be endless. If you would like Cathy to come and talk to your group either about something specific or more general , perhaps a day in the life of... please call or email and Cathy would be delighted to talk to you.

So what can Cathy talk about?

Cathy has many ideas on how horses can be kept more naturally which not only makes them happier , healthier and safer but can also drastically reduce your horse bills.

Some of the subjects are:

  • The horse’s Biological needs
  • The back, saddle and rider
  • The equine mouth – including how to do your own tooth check, how to decide which bit is best for your horse by looking at his mouth physiology.
  • How to understand spooky horses. Need they be so sensitive? This takes in an understanding of equine vision and hearing.
  • How to assess your horses feet. Could your horse be moving better?
  • Old wives tales – dispelled – you know we haven’t changed how we look after horses since the middle ages!!!
  • To rug or not to rug. To stable or not to stable – the pro s and con s for both and much much more
  • Also complementary medicine – looking at the whole horses and nothing but the whole horse

If there is something else you would like to hear about please ring Cathy and put your ideas forward.

Demonstrations

Although Cathy enjoys lecturing in a class room environment she far prefers to demonstrate the things she is talking about on a real live horse. So if you have an area in which a horse can stand and comfortably move around, Cathy will be more than delighted to show you her ideas.

Cathy demonstrating in front of audienceWhen the Your Horse marquee was at both Burghley, Hickstead and other well known shows Cathy’s demonstrations used to pull such a crowd that they had to enlarge and move the small arenas to allow more people to watch. And even years later these demonstrations were remembered by people Cathy met whilst pursuing her love of horses.

Cathy also enjoys demonstrations that help horses and their owners that have problems with day to day issues. Some such things would be:

  • Barging
  • Tying up
  • Biting
  • Non loading
  • Cant be caught
  • Doesn’t like his rugs
  • Doesn’t like being clipped
  • Doesn’t like water
  • And ……………

you’ve got it – the list goes on. Anything that is an issue for the owner is something that can potentially be put right.

After Dinner Speeches

Cathy is often invited to give After Dinner Speeches to various types of groups. The group does not need to be ‘horsey’ as the speech will be tailored specifically to the individual meeting and with Cathy’s laid back delivery and whimsical sense of humour you can guarantee your groups enjoyment and a good time will be had by all.

So if you would like to book a date with Cathy please give her a ring or contact her by email – so whether it s for an after AGM talk or your clubs yearly dinner pick up the phone and get your date booked well in advance, as her diary does get very booked.
